The biggest new restaurants in Irvine in 2026 are Din Tai Fung at Irvine Spectrum Center (opened March 2) and the first tenants at The Canopy at Great Park, where In-N-Out opened on September 4 and a T&T Supermarket and more restaurants are announced. At the Centerview food hall near John Wayne Airport, Rise Bagels won "Best of the West" at BagelFest West in April, and Fat of the Land opened in July. Irvine Spectrum: Din Tai Fung
Din Tai Fung opened at Irvine Spectrum Center on March 2, 2026, after a reservation-only soft opening that began February 6. It's about 15,000 square feet with more than 300 seats, near Target at 812 Spectrum Center Drive, and it's the chain's third Orange County location. Weekend evenings and weekend lunch are the busiest times, so a weekday lunch is the easier visit.
Centerview: Rise Bagels and a changing food hall
Rise Bagels is at 2010 Main Street, Suite 180, inside the food hall at Centerview, an office campus near John Wayne Airport. Its hours are built around weekday office traffic and Saturday mornings, so check them before you go.
Chef and co-founder John B. Park created the menus at Toast Kitchen + Bakery in Costa Mesa and Tableau Kitchen and Bar at South Coast Plaza. At the first BagelFest West in Los Angeles on April 12, 2026, Rise won "Best of the West" and shared the "Most Creative" award, as Perishable News reported. The menu leans on Korean and Japanese flavors, with bagels built around things like citrus-cured salmon or bulgogi and kimchi.
The rest of the food hall has turned over this year. The Centerview site currently lists SOL Mexican Cocina, KIT Coffee, The Goldfinch, Izakaya Osen, The Trough, Tifosi Pizza + Trattoria and Fat of the Land, a tapas restaurant that took over the old Maldon's space in July 2026. Monaco Italian Kitchen + Bar closed at the end of June.
Mr. Moto Pizza: two Irvine locations
Mr. Moto Pizza opened its first Orange County location in October 2025 at The Square, 17925 MacArthur Boulevard, near the airport. A second Irvine location opened by September 2026 in the Oak Creek Shopping Center at 5613 Alton Parkway, in the former Brooklyn's Finest Pizza space, according to What Now Orange County.
The Canopy at Great Park: opening in phases
The Canopy is a 12-acre, roughly 90,000-square-foot shopping center in Great Park Neighborhoods, developed privately by Almquist. In-N-Out, at 7900 Great Park Boulevard, opened first on September 4, 2026. The anchor will be T&T Supermarket, a 34,000-square-foot store and the Canadian Asian grocery chain's first in Southern California. Other announced tenants include McConnell's, Philz Coffee, Baba's Hot Chicken, H&H Bagels, Osen Urban Table, Chicha San Chen and Brooks Running.
The developer has said the remaining tenants will open in phases from late 2026 into early 2027. Individual dates aren't confirmed, so check the business's own page before you go.
The Canopy is separate from the City's own Great Park build-out, a roughly $1.1 billion plan for lakes, an amphitheater, a botanical garden and more, which the Business Journal reports is funded about 90% by Mello-Roos paid by Great Park homeowners.
